Essential Functions:

The Director of Organizational Development will be instrumental in shaping, executing, and overseeing the learning and development (L&D), organizational effectiveness, and organizational design programs at Goodwill of Southwest Louisiana (GWSELA). This role will cultivate a culture of continuous learning, professional development, and enterprise effectiveness. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, the Director will design a comprehensive learning strategy that aligns with GWSELA’s business objectives, strategic goals, and core values. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a demonstrated history of implementing impactful learning initiatives that drive organizational success

Key Responsibilities: Director of Organizational Development

  1. Strategic L&D Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive learning and development strategy that aligns with GWSELA’s business objectives and growth plans.
  2. Team Leadership: Recruit, lead, and mentor a team of L&D professionals, including those focused on Workers Compensation and Safety, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence.
  3. Program Design: Create and execute learning programs that encompass leadership development, technical training, onboarding, and skill-building initiatives tailored to diverse employee groups.
  4. Training Delivery Management: Oversee the delivery of training through various formats, including in-house instructors, external partners, and e-learning platforms, ensuring consistent quality and impact.
  5. L&D Advocacy: Promote the importance and value of L&D programs throughout the organization, driving engagement and participation in learning initiatives.
  6. Needs Assessment: Conduct regular assessments to identify skill gaps and training needs, aligning learning solutions with organizational priorities.
  7. Innovation & Technology: Stay current with emerging learning technologies and trends, integrating them to enhance the effectiveness and reach of training programs.
  8. Impact Measurement: Develop and implement evaluation methods to assess the effectiveness of L&D initiatives, using data-driven insights to refine strategies.
  9. Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with senior leadership, department heads, and subject matter experts to ensure alignment between learning programs and strategic business goals.
  10. Compliance & Standards: Ensure all training and development initiatives adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, maintaining organizational integrity and risk management.
  11. Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external training providers, negotiating contracts and ensuring alignment with GWSELA’s L&D strategy

Requirements:

     1. Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Education, Business, or a related field or experience in lieu of a             degree.

  1. Proven experience (10+ years) in learning and development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  2. Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design.
  3. Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  4. Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business goals into effective learning solutions.
  5. Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning platforms.
  6. Strong project management and budgeting skills.
  7. Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
  8. Certifications in relevant HR or L&D fields are a plus.
  9. Knowledge in Risk Management a plus
