Assists Personnel Division Chief/Human Resource Manager with day-to-day operations
Routes and enters personnel transactions for assigned departments
Supports employee communications practices and systems to keep employees informed regarding important City information
Responds to public records requests as needed
Maintains personnel files and records
Provides administrative and technical support for all assigned departments
Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
Provides HR guidance to employees and management as needed.
Keeps track of sexual harassment compliance rates for assigned departments
Facilitates employee onboarding, offboarding, transfers, promotions, and all other personnel transactions for their assigned departments
Provides PERFORM support for employees and supervisors in assigned departments
Closely monitors departments FTE’s for compliance
Responds to assigned departments’ unemployment claims and participates in hearings as necessary
Ensures procedures are applied in accordance with CAO policies and Rules of the Civil Service Commission
Attends mandatory professional growth and development trainings as required
Executes special projects as assigned by the Personnel Division Chief
